Genesis 3 UV Swap: Male and Female Base awesome, will there be expansions?
First, you are welcome :) But as far as I know, only Victoria 7 and Michael 7 (so far) are using the V7/M7 uvs. Everything else that I have bought is using the base G3Female or G3Male uvs. At this point, it would seem unnecessary to make any other uv swaps. That being said, the V7 uvs are so close to G3F, and M7 close to G3M, that if you put the M7 texture on V7 and vice versa, then use the Genesis 3 UV Swap, you will still get a nice fit of the textures. In the following render, I have done just that (M7 looks a little feminine, lol, and V7 has a hairy chest)
Other than the hairy chest shes not so bad, but those are THE BEST manicured male eyebrowns i've ever seen :) I picked this up, figred it would be great for doing things like Bisihi or Lady bois.

Show Us Your Iray Renders. Part IV
That's really awesome, Ivy. I can't wait to get that skydome thing. ;)
A very involved experiment. One of my observations is that the translucency maps for most skin suck. Horribly. Thankfully, the default Base Female/Male for Genesis 2 have a good weight map for translucency -- specifically, parts of the ears and fingers and nose are more translucent, other parts of the body less. It took me a few failures to realize that the Bree/Phillip skins were actually available in two forms -- Base Female/Male, AND the Victoria 5/Michael 5 UV maps (you can't use one with skins of the other without glitches)
So, the overall skin diffuse/bump/normals is Macroskin by Parris, which is highly detailed (though I found it necessary to reduce the values a bit).
I've also found that eyes are a big potential weak point in renders. Again, a lot of the eyes included in various skin packages suck. It took a few tries, but I found the eyes of Catrina are rather good. The problem is a lot of eyes were made for 3DL and have a lot of fake shine or shadow as part of the core image. Which, going to a physically accurate render, just doesn't work.
Making the translucency even COOLER is AJ's blood vessel translucency color maps -- you can see it particularly in the center of the ear. Adds a huge amount of realism.
Finally, Omri hair and Laticis eyebrows, which rock, with Unshaven 2 hair shader (which has become one of my favorite things).
wow great details on the skin...

strange problem with bunnygirl
Bunny Girl is an add-on for Catgirl and it says on the product page; Required Products: Catgirl for Aiko 4 and Victoria 4
That's the V4 version, there's one for Genesis.

Michael 7 / G3M
Victoria got her gift early this year! Spent my birthday money! Thank you, DAZ!

Michael 7 / G3M
OMGosh! I LOVE these men, I just love these men! M4, M5, M6, M7 - I now have them all, will use them all, and going to have a good time playing with the new guy. This is just fantastic! Have thrown the body and head morphs in the cart to get them Friday. That texture as well for the sea pirate thingy? Yeah... I LOVE it! I wouldn't care if they didn't do ANYMORE Victoria & her girls for the next TWO YEARS... the focus should be on the MEN!
I'm in heaven right now though... hope they keep stuff for him coming.

ZDG random Daz Studio discoveries and questions.
This is starting to look good, as I don't see any hint of that geometry stepping in the shadows, anywhere on this outfit.
FWSA Paloma, Strappy Bikini, and Endless Summer Ponytail.
Mind you, I did not try to fuss with any of the fit adjustments, I was more interested in seeing the new cloth shader settings in action. (EDIT) I tried to move the right hand a tad to show the palm-shading a bit better, and I still didn't get that in this one (Sorry Fred and Sabby). I'll try to get that a little better on the next render of her, as the shading (lighter toned palms) on the mats really is phenomenal.
Much better. Discript in a sec.
I decided the skirt mask map made a cool looking random set of circles on this Dynamic Circle Skirt. The colors are different, tho the shader settings are mostly still what was posted above with minor adjustments to specular and velvet.

WHY!?!
Kon:
There are two places you'll find Subdivision level. The first is the model itself, and it's in Parameters under Mesh Resolution. Mesh Resolution is roughly divided between 'Basic' and 'High resolution' (or maybe high definition, I'm busy rendering something and can't check)
If an object lacks the option for High Resolution, you can click: Edit > Geometry > Apply Subdivision.
Each level of subdivision increases the number of facets by 4x. With models that have HD components (like the pro packs for Victoria and Michael 5+, and various other items), you want to have Subd 3 before it will properly appear. But you only need that for close-ups... I usually drop back to Subd 1 for medium shots or even Basic for long shots -- it saves on memory and rendering. Theoretically you can go higher, but I've never found it necessary.
You can also increase subd on other things. I've occasionally applied it to clothing. Full drapey dresses and the like should probably be at least Subd 1. Some objects, particularly architecture, can distort and fall apart if you apply subdivision (so go back to Basic).
The OTHER place you'll see subdivision is in Displacement. This applies on top of object displacement, and basically 'fakes it' for the purposes of displacement effects. Generally if you are using displacement, you want Subd 3. (every time I've attempted to use less, it looks terrible). SOMETIMES you want more -- I've used displacement to make surfaces 'fuzzy,' and in those cases I've found it necessary to go to subd 5. Push it too far and you'll probably lock up youir computer.
Note: Unless you are doing close-ups or extreme displacement, you're much better off just sticking the map into Bump and be done with it.
I think that covers most of it.
So, for example, in the wizard, I have his skin with an 'old age/vascularity' displacement map, so there's displacement subd 3. I also have a bunch of HD aging morphs, so I made the figure subd 3, too.
The hair is a series of small objects. The more subd, the more smoothly they flow, and generally they tend to look thinner and react more hair-like to lighting. Which is one reason the second image's beard looks so much more bristly/coarse than the first, it's a difference of subd 1 vs. subd 3.

WHY!?!
V7 & Sasha wax. What skin is that? I only have two G3F skin sets, Victoria 7 and Sasha for V7 by Raiya and neither looks like wax.

Genesis 2 Legacies: Stylish questions
Awesome, hope to see it in the future ;) I'm starting to get some morphs to transfer, here is Victoria 3, the eyes are still messed up but I've going it's less noticeable with different textures
