Horizon for Victoria 4 is an exercise in aging detail in women, with the ability to go from about 30 years of age to almost 70! How cool is that???

After VS was released last year a customer wrote and asked for a middle aged woman. Not someone in their 80's, but a woman between the ages of 40-60 and not just a face, but detail everywhere.

It was kind of personal for me, as I turned 50 this year. How would I depict women in my age group, and how could I go about it so that I got the kind of detail I wanted, without compromising how attractive women in our age bracket REALLY are. There is no mistaking aging, and no denying it. It happens upon you that one day you wake up and look in the mirror and there you see 50 years behind you.

In the soft slope of an aging breast, a soft jaw line, tiny little laugh lines and wrinkles, skin that while still supple, shows age you find the true nature and strength of women.

From seam to shining seam, this photo real texture/character set was built lovingly to depict a wide range of age, with just the right amount of detail. I took special care to try and match seams from one section of the texture to the other without having to give up anything.

Another head texture was added with the aging detail removed, and with just a few lines and healthy glowing skin, so that you could use this over and over again for all kinds of female characters in all kinds of renders.

This is a representation of women in a way that is healthy, mature and natural, and in that I discovered that it was really wonderful to be this age, celebrating the wisdom in living as a healthy, natural, and mature woman.

Go from age 30 to 60 with two different head maps, and fantastic shaders. This texture was built from the ground floor up using Photoshop and Deep Paint 3D. Special care was taken with the hands and feet and areas on the body that would begin to show signs of age and gravity, yet she remain timeless, and beautiful.
